The two main universities in Bulgaria that offer Pharmacy in English are Sofia Medical University and Plovdiv Medical University. The study programme lasts for five years and pharmacy students graduate with a Master's degree.

  • Plovdiv Medical University is located in the second biggest city in Bulgaria - Plovdiv. The study programme Pharmacy in English at Plovdiv Medical University was introduced only recently so there are currently no graduates of the specialty. However, the equipment is brand new so pharmacy students have a chance to take advantage of a quite modern university facility. Also, as the study programme is new, it is not very famous among international students - this is why if you want to take advantage of rather small groups of students at the University and personal contact with each professor - choose Plovdiv Medical University.

What are the tuition fees and living expenses if you study Pharmacy in Bulgaria?

The tuition fees for both of the biggest medical universities in Bulgaria are 3000 Euro per semester if you wish to study Pharmacy in English. The tuition fees do not depend on your nationality. Hence, if your home country is part of the European Union, you will not get a discount. The tuition fees must be paid in two installments (3000 Euro each semester) via bank transfer. To sum up, if you study Pharmacy in Bulgaria, you will take advantage of cheap tuition fees that are usually quite rare at other European medical universities.
